Class of 1959 Celebrates

50th Reunion

Wow! A 50th class reunion. It seems like Senior Prom was only yesterday. On Friday evening before Missouri Day, twenty-two classmates from Fowler High School Class of 1959 gathered at the home of Rick and Virginia Sharon for pot luck, reminiscing and lots of laughter. Pictured here in no particular order were guests Jim and Carol Barnard, Eads; John and Marilyn Bouldin, Salida; Garold Eichelberger, Manzanola; Freda (Gaddis) and Butch Tyler, Ava, Mo.; Bill and Jeannie Moffitt, Pasco, Wash.; John and Marge Nesselhuf, Lewistown, Mont.; Lenora (Hansen) Tahtinen, Pewaukie, Wis.; Bob and Billee Lu (Grooms) Harris, Steamboat Springs; Esther (Shaffstall) and Helmut Kienitz, La Junta; Jerry and Linda Sullivan, Ordway; Sandy (Teilborg) Webb, Victorville, Calif.; Charlotte (Tyler) Biddle, Marshfield, Mo.; Jim and Nancy Thomas, Brighton; Frank Wood, La Junta; Shirley (Heckart) Kravig and Keenan Schlegel, Janet (Sartor) and Jerry Valentine, Pueblo. Fowlerites included Connie (Harriman) Cook, Gene and Velma (Daniels) Hart, Barbara (DeMerritt) and Wayne Fitts, Rick and Virginia (Higgs) Sharon. The senior class sponsor John Fuller and wife, Janet (Buck) also attended.
 
The class of 1959 has lost four classmates – LaVonne Vulgamore, Sue (Cope) Deifenback, Ben Graham, and Tom (Dr. T) Smith. Sue and Tom's spouses, Erick Deifenbach and Karen Smith, joined the class for the reunion.
 
Fourteen classmates and the class sponsor rode in the Missouri Day parade on Saturday.
